EF ECOFLOW RIVER 2

Pro Portable Power Station

Are you a digital nomad or you in need of backup power?

While slow traveling in multiple countries, I needed a reliable power source due to frequent power outages.

My use case is that I have it plugged into the AC power full-time and use it for keeping my WIFI and internet router powered in case of a power interruption.  I work remotely and need to stay connected.

It paid for itself when after owning it for only a couple of weeks, the power was out for over 10 hours in my area.  It is not a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), but I was back online in under 2 minutes and that due to the router needing to cycle.
With the ECOFLOW River 2 Pro and my laptop, I was able to continue working and attend online meetings the entire day.  Even with the long interruption, the unit was only down to 70% after powering the router, WIFI, and recharging an iPad during those hours.  As another way to gauge - it can run an AC fan for almost 14 hours when fully charged (or can fully charge a laptop 10 times).

Outlets: four (4) AC, one (1) DC, three (3) USB-A, and one (1) USB-C.

The EF ECOFLOW River 2 Pro has an option to be charged with a solar panel, so can be used while camping or away from power sources.

The output is 800W, but can go up to 1600W.

When plugged-in, it will charge from 0 – 100% in ~70 minutes.  The app (available for Apple and Google) allows you to monitor battery charge and usage from your smartphone.

The unit comes with a 5-year warranty.  It can be charged via: solar, AC, DC, and USB-C. It is 10.5”L x 10.1”W x 8.5”H (270 x 260 x 226mm) and weighs just a touch over 17 pounds.

For me, it is worth having the peace of mind that I can stay connected and continue to work. This allows me the freedom to work from anywhere, which is priceless.
